NOTE
The hope scholarship students take exams with several examination boards in United Kingdom such as Association of Business Executives (ABE), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), and Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA). The list also includes Public Accountants Examination Council of Malawi (PAEC)
Both the tuition and examination fees vary according to the board where one does the course. So the fees shown above are accurate for the current situation but may go through upward adjustment any time. But ACCA and CIM fees are usually much higher than what is shown above.
OUR VIEWS
We finally hold the view that intellectual empowerment for young people is the most strategic approach to development. Education provides the brightest form of enlightenment that becomes a spring board for all forms of human, social, economic and infrastructural development.
Intellectual empowerment also equips the youths with skills that turn them into a good church leadership cadre.
In this way the Mzuzu UMC tries to blend two ministries together. We use the bible to enrich the hearts of our children and youth and use education to make them learned socio- economic players.
They become spiritually seasoned to proclaim Christ and His kingdom. They get education for employment to earn a living and also support the church with their financial resources besides providing leadership services.
This kind of crop replicates the process by supporting other members of the community with whatever they earn which means that when we invest into one student for education we create an avenue to bless more lives around a particular student. For instance Ellen Mhone ganged up with her brother and in two years they have built a house for their parents who were jobless for a while. Ellen is now supporting a child at Tukombo Pvt High school where she pays US$1000.00 per year.
And Noel got a job with a certain bank and immediately began to support his needy younger brother (Makaiko Kumwenda) to write “O LEVEL” Exams and he has passed with flying colors. Through this support Makaiko will soon enter the University of Malawi for undergraduate studies.
Jonathan is hired by the Media as cashier and is also supporting his needy parents and siblings.
